Notes The GmIXA peptide differs by the absence of the two gamma carboxylic acids. GmIXA does not present a difference of activity but TxIXA folds more efficiently than GmIXA in the presence of calcium ions (as in the endoplasmic reticulum).

Ueberheide et al. 2009 have isolated TxIXA without the modification of glutamic acids into γ-carboxylic glutamic acids.
