Notes LtXIVa displayed analgesic activity in a hot plate assay [Sun et al. 2011]. Analgesia was also observed against second-phase pain in formalin-induced inflammatory pain model, and in a paw withdrawal threshold test of mechanical pain [Ren et al. 2015]. Effects downstream of nAChR: inhibits Ca(2+) influx, ERK1/2 phosphorylation and c-fos/NOS expression [Ren et al. 2015]. LtXIVA treatment did induce a morphine-dependent phenotype in mice, and genes associated with drug dependence were not up-regulated [Ren et al. 2015]. LtXIVA treatment reversed morphine withdrawal symptoms in mice [Ren et al. 2015].
